Frequently Asked Questions

Styrelf® PMB is a range of elastomerically modified polymer bitumen developed for high-performance road construction applications. It is manufactured using advanced elastomeric polymer technology that improves the strength, flexibility, and durability of pavements. Styrelf® PMB is commonly used in highways, flyovers, city roads, junctions, and heavy traffic areas to enhance overall pavement performance and longevity.

Styrelf® PMB offers several benefits, including better resistance to rutting, fatigue cracking, oxidation, and aging. It also provides improved adhesion with aggregates, enhanced elastic recovery, and superior performance under varying temperature conditions. These properties help reduce maintenance frequency and improve the lifespan of roads.

Styrelf® PMB improves pavement durability by increasing resistance to thermal cracking, rutting, and fatigue caused by heavy traffic loads and extreme weather conditions. Its viscoelastic properties provide better flexibility and cohesion, helping roads maintain structural integrity for a longer period and reducing the need for frequent repairs or overlays.

Unlike conventional bitumen, Styrelf® PMB is modified with elastomeric polymers using advanced cross-linking technology. This modification enhances storage stability, elastic recovery, elongation capacity, and resistance to aging. As a result, Styrelf® PMB delivers superior pavement performance, especially in areas exposed to high traffic and extreme climatic conditions.

The Styrelf® PMB product range includes multiple grades such as STYRELF® PMB 40, STYRELF® PMB 70, and STYRELF® PMB 40 Super.
