Emulsion – Rapid Setting

Rapid Setting Bitumen Emulsion is designed to break and set quickly upon contact with aggregates or existing road surfaces. Once applied, it forms a strong adhesive film that binds aggregates tightly and seals surface voids. This sealing action prevents water from penetrating into the pavement layers, reducing the risk of stripping, pothole formation, and structural damage. By creating a waterproof barrier, it significantly enhances the durability and lifespan of the road.

The key difference lies in the rate at which the emulsion breaks and sets:

• Rapid Setting (RS): Breaks quickly and is ideal for surface dressing and tack coats where fast adhesion is required.
• Medium Setting (MS): Breaks at a moderate rate, suitable for premix works like patch repairs and mixing with aggregates.
• Slow Setting (SS): Breaks slowly, allowing more time for mixing and handling, making it ideal for slurry seals, fog seals, and soil stabilization.
